Tailor Engineering provided specialist element design for the reinforced soil slope (RSS) on this key infrastructure project. The Variante di Zogno would ease congestion at the entrance of the Brembana Valley, an area of outstanding natural beauty, in the North of Italy.
The reinforced soil slope, which would raise the existing road embankment, has a maximum height of 18 m and a total face of about 2,000 sqm. The solution provided, with steep vegetated slopes up to 65 degrees, would eventually blend with the natural surroundings. We are proud to support the Principal Contractor (Collini Lavori Spa) and the Principal Engineer (Infrastrutture Lombarde; now ARIA S.p.A. Lombardia) with specialist design on geosynthetics.
